Casper The Friendly Dead Boy (errr, Ghost) made his film debut in 1945, and has been going strong ever since, with movies, comic books, television, and even a feature film. The Casper cartoons were pretty formulaic (the ghost always wants to make friends, everyone’s scared of him!) but have a peculiar charm of their own. I like em, myself!
