“Hello, Ball!”: Remembering Art Carney on his birthday!

Art Carney was born 11/4/18 and passed away on 11/9/03. A star on stage and screen, radio and television, Carney was adept at both comedy and drama. He won the Academy Award for his 1974 performance in HARRY AND TONTO, was memorable as a department store Santa in the 1964 TWILIGHT  ZONE episode “Night of the Meek”, and even played the villainous Archer on the camp classic BATMAN. But Art Carney is best known as Ed Norton, sidekick of the blustery Ralph Kramden in THE HONEYMOONERS. Carney and Jackie Gleason were a perfect match, as seen here in one of my favorite episodes, “The Golfer”:
