Where Have I Been?

It all started about a year ago, when my laptop was attacked by a ransom virus. Since I had my work laptop, I put the personal one aside and kept right on blogging. But all good things must end, and the Federal grant project I was working for expired… meaning I had to turn that work laptop into the company that I subcontracted for! What’s a blogger to do?

Remembering that old laptop collecting dust, I brought it to the Geek Squad folks at the local Best Buy, wondering if it could be repaired (since I’m about as low-tech as you can get!). They said yes, but they’d have to reboot the whole enchilada in order to do so. A week later, thanks to the superheroes at Geek Squad, Cracked Rear Viewer is up and running again! And from looking at the stats for the last eight days, you Dear Readers have been right here waiting for me. Thank you for your patience and loyalty, and I’ll have some new content ready to roll tomorrow around 6EST, then back to the regular schedule of Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays around six, and Fridays at noon. Ah, my internet withdrawals are gone!

Cracked Rear Viewer’s 3rd Annual “Halloween Havoc!” Begins Sunday!

Get ready for fright nights as once again I do 31 horror films in 31 days! This is the third year I’ve taken on this terrifying task, and the madness starts on Sunday October 1st with old fiends, er friends, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, and Roger Corman! But the fearful fun doesn’t stop there! This year’s lineup includes ghouls and ghosts, maniacal murderers and sick psych-biddies, giant bugs and tiny terrors, warlocks and witches, supernatural and spaced-out zombies, and even a terrible tree monster!! There’ll also be some abominable extras every weekend. I hope you’ll join me for this month-long look at all cinematic things that go BOO in the night!

More Ch-Ch-Changes at Cracked Rear Viewer!

Hello, Dear Readers! Spring is a season of change, and there’ll be a change here at Cracked Rear Viewer as well. Due to scheduling conflicts, my posting days are about to change. I’ll be putting up reviews on Mondays and Wednesdays for the foreseeable future instead of Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays will remain the same, and I’m adding some special features to be posted on Fridays! Stay tuned, and as Bartles & Jaymes used to say, “We thank you for your support”!

PREVIEWS OF COMING ATTRACTIONS

What’s with all the question marks, you ask? Good question!

Here’s the answer: I’ll be busy attending a week-long, job-related seminar and time will NOT be on my side! I’ve got a couple of posts almost ready to go, but I’m unsure of exactly when. I’m going to try and get something Oscar-related for tomorrow, after that you’ll just have to stay tuned! Meanwhile, feel free to roam the archives, check out the Facebook page, and oh, yes… watch classic movies!
